What is Oral Semaglutide?

Oral semaglutide (Rybelsus) contains the same active ingredient as injectable Wegovy/Ozempic but in a convenient daily pill form. It uses a special absorption enhancer (SNAC) to allow the peptide to be absorbed through the stomach lining.

This is an excellent option for patients who prefer not to self-inject or are needle-averse, while still benefiting from the proven GLP-1 mechanism of action.
